GET TO KNOW THE FOUNDER
Meet Pashyon
Leading the next generation of braiders with Boss Kids Braiding Academy
Pashyon began braiding at the age of 9 years old, in her father’s barbershop. By the age of 13, her skills led her to get her first paying clients. Now, 30 years later, Pashyon is developing the next generation of skillful professional braiders, wig makers, and extension technicians with Boss Kids Braiding Academy.
Pashyon started the academy because there were no formal braiding schools when she was growing up in Los Angeles. As a child, she quickly learned that braiding is a technique you had to learn on your own. Even after enrolling in Cosmetology school, she did not receive the adequate training to braid hair. Through a long and committed career, Pashyon is now a Master Braider, with a client base that boasts the who’s who of Los Angeles, as well as a devout client base of both women and men throughout Los Angeles County and the Antelope Valley.
Boss Kids Braiding Academy was founded to empower young individuals with hands-on braiding skills while teaching the business side of the beauty industry. We provide mentorship, training, and a positive space for youth to build confidence, creativity, and financial independence.
